Endeavour Group, which owns retailers like Dan Murphy’s and BWS, is recruiting a new chief information security officer (CISO) as incumbent Grant McKechnie prepares to leave.
McKechnie is moving on after four years, and announced his upcoming departure on LinkedIn last week. His last day is February 29.
“After four years of working to establish Endeavour’s cyber function, develop team capabilities and implement our current control set, Grant McKechnie has decided to explore new opportunities outside of Endeavour," a group spokesperson told iTnews.
“We thank him for his significant contributions to Endeavour and wish him all the best.
“Endeavour is now in the market for a CISO to join our technology leadership team and work to deliver the next stage in our maturity,” the spokesperson said.
Endeavour said the CISO’s role includes “overseeing incident response, conducting security awareness training, and managing vendor relationships”.
When it demerged from Woolworths in 2021, Endeavour Group initially continued using Woolworths’ tech platforms.
In September 2022, it signalled its intention to carve out its own path by creating a director of transformation role.
Later that year, Endeavour also set up its own analytics capability.
Last year, Endeavour announced a three-year tech program designed to hit a savings run rate of $200 million by 2026.
The group operates 270 Dan Murphy’s stores and over 1400 BWS stores, along with other brands including ALH Hotels and the endeavourX tech operation.
