CISO search begins.

The Australian Digital Health Agency (AHDA) is recruiting a new chief information security officer (CISO) following John Borchi promotion to chief technology officer.

ADHA makes John Borchi its permanent CTO

Borchi had been acting in the CTO position following the departure of Dr Malcolm Thatcher.

With Borchi’s position now formalised, the ADHA kicked off the search for a replacement CISO with an advertisement on LinkedIn.

The CISO will report to Borchi, and will be responsible for “safeguarding [the ADHA’s] systems from potential threats” – including “designated functions of the My Health Record system”.

"This includes ensuring that cyber security requirements are seamlessly integrated into the design and implementation of all agency systems and products.”

The agency also has a focus on real-time data exchange to support Medicare and reforms to health policy.

In August 2023, the agency told iTnews its IT priorities included improving its collaboration systems, hybrid work, and data storage; along with work to rationalise various business systems and expand its use of Dynamics 365.

At that time, the ADHA also approached the market for the second Aged Care Industry Offer to support its industry enablement project.
